Zhang Zhiyong Melvin

Melvin graduated with a Bachelors of Computing (Honours) and minor in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore in June 2006. He is currently a second year PhD candidate in the School of Computing, National University of Singapore, under the supervision of Associate Professor Leong Hon Wai.

Melvin is interested in the algorithmic aspects of computational problems. Currently, he applies algorithmic techniques to solve problems in the area of comparative genomics. In addition, Melvin enjoys teaching and contributing to the SoC community in its outreach and orientation activities. He was a teaching assistant in the Data Structures and Algorithms module and the Design and Analysis of Algorithms module.
